When life gives you lemons…..you default to the most common conclusion, but that’s not the only one & you know it.
When you’ve got a deadline looming your mind can just freeze up and your forget what you know. I’ve had this happen to me recently.
I’ve spent ages trying to recall formulas to programme into a spreadsheets, the deadline has been creeping up & today, I Googled. The search engine spat out thousands of results only to remind me that I could locate all the formulas I could ever need all pre-programmed via the spreadsheet “new file” options it’s self *Face Palm*. This is not a new revelation, just something I had completely forgotten in a mind overload.
This is not the first and will most likely not be the last time I’ll have forgotten something that would save me heaps of time, worry and feelings of being useless. But I can prevent forgetting the same thing over and over again.
- WRITE IT DOWN! – Dated Notes
- Record it – I use Camtasia
- Screen Capture – I use Jing
- Have an Organised Filing System – Label folders and use them
- Keep it in your line of site – Print a put on the wall in your work space
- Set alarms – Google Calender Synced to your phone is awesome for this.
Remember if all else fails, you can always outsource it;-)
Love it. It’s nice to know it’s not only me.
No, you are most definitely not alone Keryn 🙂
