It’s done. You’ve checked your goals are still a great fit or tweaked them if they weren’t. You’ve reviewed your progress so far and you’re wondering, hey AJ – what now?
Well, let me tell you – you have to step up and get those gears moving! If you don’t hear the sound of your blood pumping, you aren’t working hard enough. Isaac Newton discovered that an object at rest stays at rest and guess what? It’s true for people too. So it’s time to stoke the fires and get some action happening and here’s how you are going to do it….

Attack Your Business Plan
If you haven’t got a business plan, what the hell have you been doing? I’m assuming you have one but if not, head over to my resources section and download my template on forging your own path using a business plan and then come back. So now is the time to read through your business plan. Is it still heading in the direction you want it to? How can you make it more appropriate for your changing needs?

Change Your Triggers
What triggers do you have? Are they working? Chances are that you need to update them for your new or existing goals. The aim of your triggers is to get you to do something and this is heaps easier if your trigger is something you already do. Look at what you are already doing, such as cleaning your teeth, getting out of bed or taking the kids to school. Use one of those actions as a new trigger to work on achieving your goals.

Peer Pressure Accountability
So you want to keep all your successes to yourself? No way! You’ll want to share them all. However, when it comes to near misses or total bomb outs, it feels so much better to keep them hidden. Well, that is not happening anymore. It’s time for you to announce to the world what your goals are and review them frequently. Being held accountable to not only yourself makes it heaps easier to find the motivation to work on achieving them. If you wipe out, hell, don’t stress, but you still have to tell others. More often than not you will find they bring another perspective to the situation, helping you to learn more from the experience.

Ask For Help
No man is an island and no one should be expected to do everything by themselves. Ask for help when you need it and be willing to help others who also reach out to you.
-
Reward Yourself
Every success is a victory, no matter how small. Start by celebrating each and every success you have and you’ll be ready for one hell of a party when you finally meet your goals!

Remind Yourself Why
If you are struggling in the motivation department (and let’s face it, we all do at times), then stop and take the time to remember why you are actually doing it. What is important about your goals that make you want to achieve them? Look at why you set that goal in the first place and the steps you have planned to achieve it.
Right, tell me! How are you going to step up a gear and make things happen! I want to know below and this is a great way of being accountable too!
Great post as always Amanda. It is a great timely reminder that we need to keep the momentum going so we can reach our goals. Totally feeling the lack of motivation at present but know that this too shall pass. Keep up the great work.
