Forget Square One – It’s No Longer Necessary to Start Over

Published by AJ Pipe on 15/01/2017

No More Square One

Build on what you know and never have to start over from square one again.

Every day offers you the opportunity to take yet another step forward and the chance to achieve yet another activity on your adventure list. Every day also lets you take the time to celebrate your achievements, which you can find out more about by reading my Celebrate Good Times article.

But every day is also a day where you don’t have to start at the beginning. With plenty of both life and business experiences behind you, there is no need to commence working at square one again. The learning and growing you have achieved along your journey have given you an immense wealth, even greater than money. It’s called your knowledge.

Your Knowledge Is Powerful

When you make a decision, you could use one of two things; your intel or your intuition.

  • Intel – everything you have learned is your intel. When you had a tremendous success when trying something new, that’s knowledge. When you bummed out majorly and lost money or clients, that’s knowledge. Even when you checked the progress you have made towards achieving your goals and adjusted them accordingly, that’s knowledge. Your knowledge is the perfect tool to help you make informed decisions.
  • Intuition – that niggling feeling is your intuition. It just doesn’t feel right, that’s your intuition. You really feel that something is the perfect choice for you, that’s your intuition. You don’t have any hard information to base a decision on, just what you feel, that’s your intuition. While intuition is also a powerful tool, it is not as strong as your intel.

Use it or lose it.

So when making decisions, reflecting upon what you already know is the best tool you can use. It can help you to make unbiased decisions. Use the facts to assess what you already know, what you need to learn and the path you are going to take. If you apply what you’ve learnt, you’ll never start from square one again.
