BEFORE GETTING STARTED ON MOMENTUM…
How To Deal With Your “Should” Basket
It’s no big deal. In fact, it’s something I’m not even going to apologise for. But the truth is, I’m not a blogger. I’ve got a tonne of awesome information, which I know will make a massive impact on how you see your business. Yet writing is just not my forte and I can’t fall in love with it the way I know I should.
I should.
Should.
Who should?
Hmm, well that got me thinking, “What would I tell my clients to do in this situation?”
OUTSOURCE IT
So I did. And you should too! I’ve taken the outline I planned way back in 2015 and handed it over to Jackie Procter (awesome copywriter) of whom I’ve used before (ha, see you won’t even be able to tell the difference).
I’d lost my momentum after I planned a year’s worth of blog content. I’d planned on writing one blog a month and thought I was on a roll after a couple went out without a hitch. Then February came and my topic was Cultivating “action taking” Momentum, ironic hay? I had an influx of awesome clients and well, since blogging just doesn’t do it for me, it kept getting pushed back and back. I was motivated and ready to rumble, but just couldn’t even make myself do those blogs because I would not be working in my happy space.
What would you do if you had to choice between something you absolutely loved doing or something you know you should really do? I’ve made my choice and you’re reading it right now…. Outsourcing my blogs so I can concentrate on working with my awesome clients!
Now back to regular really helpful content….
How To Cultivate Momentum
It’s fair to say that not everyone is bursting with a momentum all the time. But one thing we can do is capture those feelings we get when we are having those YESSSS moments. We do this by anchoring your feelings.
Here is how…
- Press your thumb and your middle finger together when you’re in a YESSSS moment. This will become your Trigger
- Whilst pushing your thumb and finger together, close your eyes & tap into the joy you’re feeling from achieving. That warm glow. That sense of “I can take on the world.”
- Repeat your Trigger motion every time you feel successful
- Use this Trigger every time you need an energy boost, to help you to get back on your momentum game.
All that might seem a bit woo-woo, but seriously I’m all about using whatever tools I have to make sure stuff gets done. That’s the crux of it really, using what you can and the resources you can access to get things done and take action.
So let’s get back to you, as you are seriously important to me. I want you to think hard and honestly and let me know what have you still got in your ‘should’ basket? Comment right here for your first step to accountability.
[…] to your website and outsource all your editing and huge kudos to you! You must have read my blog on Cultivating Momentum with Outsourcing. But say for some weird moment you can’t do that for whatever reason, you need to edit it […]
OMG I really had to laugh at your image “I’ll just sit down for five mins, yeah right!” that is exactly what I am doing right now, having a “5min” break before I get back into my to do list but as usual my 5mins are now expanding lol, so thanks for your blog, motivation is back and my break is now over 😉
Yay! I made someone laugh. Best comment ever 🙂
I have sending out client newsletters in my should basket. So I am outsourcing them to get rid of them!
the best way to deal with anything not on point with what you enjoy doing 🙂 Thank you Jackie
