Know Who You Want To Connect With

Although having just a large Twitter following is not a worthwhile goal, having an engaged audience is.

Here are 5 tips on building a quality twitter following.

  1. Craft your profile:-
  • Have searchable #HashTags on key subjects
  • Don’t be an EGG! Make sure you’ve uploaded a profile picture & a background header.
  • Link a website so people can find out more about you then the profile space allows.

2.   Start targeted and follow 1st – Search your local area & interests for people to follow.

3.    Watch for #TweetUps (gatherings on Twitter) .i.e. #somum or #sussexhour + relevant ‘Follow’ events (known as ‘Follow Ladders’) i.e. #FollowFriday (#FF)

4.   Ask for help publicly on Twitter; they are a good bunch and if you ask nicely, will introduce you their followers.

5.   This is the most important…..Twitter is about engagement, talk to people! Reply and be present.
